providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for
operators around the world, today launched its advanced Quidway
NetEngine 5000E ("NE5000E"Core Router Multi-chassis Cluster System at
SOFNET 2008, an industry forum organised by the International
Engineering Consortium (IEC). The system has been successfully deployed
commercially by China Telecom, allowing an increase in the operator's
ADSL bandwidth for its subscribers.
With carrier IP network transformation and the rise of IMS, FMC and the
digital home, demand for network bandwidth has increased dramatically.
To keep pace, the development of core routers at network backbone nodes
is entering a new phase. Carrier-class core routers now require a
combination of high reliability, robust scalability and strong
processing, forwarding and switching capabilities.
The NE5000E Cluster Core Router, which is based on industry-leading
router cluster technologies offers an innovative solution to the IP
network transformation of carriers. With the industry's first 10Tbps
switch capacity and forwarding performance architecture, the system
meets the requirements of New Generation Networks on bandwidth
performance, service quality and service provision capabilities. The
system implements the industry's innovatory ISHE (In-service Hardware
Expansion) that can be expanded from 1.28T to 80T without any hardware
replacement and can meet the demands of operators' constantly-growing
business requirements with the most flexible scalability. Furthermore,
the system adopts ASIC-based core chips, which can reduce power
consumption by more than 40%. By virtue of its 10Tbps capacity, an
industry's first, most flexible expansion mode and top green design,
Huawei's NE5000E Cluster Core Router structurally reduces TCO and
satisfies the network integration requirements of users in the All-IP
era.
