Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan warned about responsibility for break of lines of international communication


Jan 24, 2013 (Trend News Agency - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan -- State-owned Turkmen Telecom under the Ministry of Communications reiterated the risk of breakage of cable lines of "national economic and international importance" on Wednesday.



"Damage to communication cables disturb the good functioning of the network, damage the defense and security of the country, the production of business entities and the interests of citizens," the Ministry of Communications said.

Since 1998, the Trans-Asia-Europe (TAE) International Fiber Optical Cable System has passed through Turkmenistan from the Uzbek border in Turkmenabat to Mary then Ashgabat to the border of the Islamic Republic of Iran.


The newly laid fiber-optic Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi-Balkanabat line with a 620 km length, the 580 kilometers long Ashgabat-Dashoguz, Farab-Turkmenabat-Atamurat Magdanly with 432 kilometers length, Atamurat Imamnazar with 125 kilometers length, 120 kilometer run Tejan-Sarakhs pass along the roads, railways, existing cable lines, near oil and gas pipelines and other communications.

For conducting all kinds of work related to the soil excavation in the cable communication line protection zone (excluding plowing to a depth of 0.3 meters) on the land, belonging to the daykhan (peasant) association, entity or private person, the customer (the developer) should receive a written consent of the communication company, which is running the cable lines.

Legal entities and persons who don't comply with the rules of protection of communication lines, or disrupt the operation of cable communication lines will be brought to responsibility under the legislation of Turkmenistan.
