(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Microsoft, Global software giant, chipmaker Intel and the Kenya Private Schools Alliance have announced the setting up of a youth device programme and this is scheduled for offering a package of cheap devices, educational applications, online services, affordable data plans, and smart funding to Kenyan learning institutions as part of the Microsoft 4Afrika s Youth Initiative.



Previously this year, 4Afrika Youth Initiative was introduced for offering scholarships, fellowships, and internships to thousands of African youngsters and now in Kenya, the device programme is scheduled to begin and it also anticipated to be flourished to other African nations such as Egypt, South Africa, and Nigeria.

A range of Microsoft and Intel devices and services in different form factors will be available, each one preloaded with education applications including Intel s Explore and Learn, the full Office 365 suite, and Skype, says a statement from Microsoft.


The devices based on Intel architecture are purpose built for education - they are student-friendly rugged designs that are water-resistant and dust-resistant to promote anytime, anywhere learning. These devices are available from a number of manufacturers and will be distributed locally by Mitsumi Distribution, stated by Microsoft officials.
