ZTE is participating in the exhibition and showcasing a full range of innovative ICT solutions in the smart city and smart traffic markets, further emphasising ZTE's expansion in the government and enterprise markets in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).

GITEX, the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition, is an international consumer electronics exhibition held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. 80 percent of attendees come from the Middle East and North Africa, making this exhibition an important platform for market expansion in these regions.


ZTE has a strong focus on the government, energy, transportation and public utilities sectors, and combines channel sales and direct operator sales to provide the Middle East and Africa with full-fledged ICT solutions and services at multiple levels and in many different fields.

After a decade of commitment to the MEA markets, ZTE's solutions in public safety, green energy, rail transport communications and public utilities are being used in ten countries in the region, and its market share is rising steadily.

ZTE launched the U-World brand exclusively in the Middle East and Africa to provide a set of solutions for different industries tailored for MEA markets, including U-Safety for public safety, U-Highway for national broadband networks, U-Government for digital government, U-Power for smart grids, U-Oil & Gas for digital oil and gas, i-Rail of U-Transportation for rail transport, U-DTV, and e-Education. These innovative and integrated ICT solutions and services will be featured at GITEX 2014. They facilitate the development of enterprise businesses, improve the efficiency of governments, create a safe society, and greatly contribute to the economy and people's livelihoods in these regions.

ZTE has helped the Kenyan government achieve an information-based public service, and assisted Ethiopia, Egypt, Mozambique and Nigeria in building information-based education systems, and made further contributions to the education sector in Africa. ZTE has also contributed to the development of the communities it works in, donating funds to build primary schools and orphanages in Kenya and Ethiopia, and establishing ICT training centres in South Africa, Egypt, Algeria and Ethiopia. ZTE has helped Ethiopia build its first fully-fledged structure for communications technology training, and trained telecom engineers and management personnel for the country through an engineer training programme carried out from 2008 to 2012.
