Botswana,Sweden : ERICSSON inks ORANGE BOTSWANA network management pact [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Ericsson, a telecom equipment maker, declared that it will manage mobile operator Orange Botswana's network operations.

Both the companies have inked a multi-year managed services agreement that would improve the Orange Botswana's service delivery. Under the agreement, Ericsson will be responsible for the operational management and field maintenance of Orange Botswana's network infrastructure.



Philippe Baudin, chief executive officer of Orange Botswana, commented "This agreement with Ericsson reflects our long-standing partnership, and our ongoing commitment to deliver on a simple promise: to be first for service, value, and innovation." "This is an effort by Orange to optimise its network and IT operations with the aim to further improve quality of service and customer experience," Baudin further added.

At the same time, 27 technical employees from Orange Botswana joined Ericsson following the decision to outsource technical services.


This year, Ericsson has bagged other key network management contracts in Africa. Vodafone Egypt inked a three-year managed services agreement in August with Ericsson to boost its connectivity and network quality coverage in Cairo.
