DVCOM announces expansion plans at GITEX [ITP.net (United Arab Emirates)]

(ITP.net (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DVCOM Technology, a specialist in open source VoIP telephony and networking solutions, is exhibiting a broad line up of products at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2014.

The company, which is based in Dubai, is the authorised distributor in the MENA region for leading communications brands including Asterisk/Digium, DrayTek, Yeastar, Yealink, Snom, Media5, Patton and CyberData.

"We are representing all of our vendors who are participating at GITEX with us," Renjan George, Managing Director, DVCOM, says. "We have two new brands which we are showing in this market. One is 2N, a company based in the Czech Republic which specialises in IP intercoms and access controls, gateways and so on." The company is also showcasing Yealink, which recently launched new product lines including the T4 series and T23; and Dinstar, which is a GSM gateway product line.

"There is a huge market for intercoms [in Europe]. We expect to see that here too for universities, governments, big residential projects and so on," George says.

But it is not just DVCOM's portfolio that is expanding. The company, which already has an office in Iran, plans open an office in Nigeria in 2015.

"We are planning to further expand in Africa because that is green field and there is a lot more IP adoption these days. It is a traditional market with lots of analogue interface but we have seen that the IP infrastructure is growing and therefore we are seeing a pull for IP-based products," he says.

DVCOM is the technology arm of Al Mashka Group, a UAE based $150m conglomerate.
