A new client and technical service centre will be opened by NetroMedia in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Middle East office is scheduled to open on September 19, 2011. Enhanced support will be provided by NetroMedia to its expanding Middle East client base through the new office. An announcement in this regard has been made at IBC 2011 by the top streaming media company, NetroMedia.

Dar Al Watan, one of the most popular private Kuwaiti TV stations, is a client of NetroMedia in the Middle East. Other clients of NetroMedia include Saudi company, IT City. The global live streaming of Ramadan prayers to mobile were recently sponsored by IT City. The streaming media company’s flawless global delivery has benefitted these broadcasters along with other clients from the region.

Taher Altayeb, Manager for Middle East at NetroMedia will now head the new office. In a release, Altayeb said, “It is wonderful to be working out of the region, as we have many longstanding client relationships there. I’m also particularly excited to show new customers how NetroMedia can help them stream to all devices at once.”

The disparity between mobile and Internet adoption rates in the region have made NetroMedia’s mobile streaming solutions appealing to Middle Eastern organizations. According to a 2010 report by the Canadian Trade Commission, Egypt has one of the region’s most developed telecommunications sectors. While the country’s mobile adoption is approximately 68 percent, its Internet adoption is only 13 percent.

Jason Potter who is the client services manager at NetroMedia said, “We have always had a division of our client services team dedicated to serving the Middle East. We deliver one-on-one customer service to each and every client, and being in the region is going to make that even better.”

In May 2011, NetroMedia had moved its Victoria, BC head office to a larger space. In January, 2011, the company had also opened a new European office in London, UK. After these expansion moves, NetroMedia has also decided to expand in the Middle East. Mobile streaming solutions will be demonstrated by NetroMedia at IBC 2011. NetroMedia will be in Hall 6, Stand 6.B22 until September 13, 2011.
