Tektronix (News - Alert) Communications, a provider of communications test and Network Intelligence solutions, signed an agreement with Avea, Turkey's fastest growing 1800 GSM provider, to deploy its Iris suite of products.

As per the agreement, Avea has installed the turnkey solution which includes IrisView, the Iris analyzer toolset and the Iris Performance Intelligence solution in Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara to monitor data service traffic across their network.

Tektronix’ Iris suite of products are designed to give operators additional insight into the end-to-end management and operations of their networks. It offers multiple organizations within service provider real-time and historical information for all service troubleshooting and performance monitoring needs. These products are noted to offer Avea with greater insight and visibility into how its network and services are performing, and help the company to provide a better end user experience for its customers.

"To handle the rapid growth in data traffic following the launch of their 3G network, Avea required a turnkey solution as well as a partnership that would enable market readiness," Mark Driedger, vice president, Network Management, Tektronix Communications said in a press release.

"Our Iris suite of products provides Avea a real-time view of end-to-end network and service performance for data services, which facilitates faster resolution of customer-impacting issues," Driedger added.

As believed by both the companies, Tektronix Communications' (News - Alert) Iris suite of products will now allow Avea to monitor its entire mobile network end-to-end to detect any capacity bottlenecks, characterize the traffic and enable faster resolution of network and service issues before they impact customer experience. It will also help Avea to better understand how its network resources are being utilized through the use of real-time and historical statistics and pre-defined KPIs.

"We initially selected Tektronix Communications' because of the strength of their Iris suite offering and its ability to collect and correlate data and turn that data into actionable information to better manage our networks, services and customers more efficiently and profitably," Avea's Cemal Baki, senior network director at Avea said in a statement.

"Since our decision to purchase, the team at Tektronix Communications has taken a proactive approach to partner with us to quickly and efficiently get the solution up and running across four of our sites in Turkey," Baki added.

This year, Tektronix Communications’ Iris suite with LTE (News - Alert) Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and the Iris Performance Intelligence (IPI) monitoring solutions received the 2010 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award from TMC (News - Alert), and the 2010 4GWE Product of the Year Award from TMC and Crossfire Media.
