This week, Turkcell (News - Alert) hosted Al Gore for its Leaders Summit in Instanbul. Turkcell is a landmark for the communication and tech industries in Turkey, so it was no surprise that it was able to engage the former vice president of the United States for the event.
In addition to Gore, other impressive panelists from Apple (News - Alert) and Google attended the event that Turkcell hosted in an effort to bring business leaders together with the greatest thinkers of the day.
Gore lavished praise on not only Turkey’s handling of its economy, but on Turkcell in particular in his speech at the summit. The former vice president pointed out that Turkey has caught on grandly to the new technological wave washing across the world.
According to Gore, the advent of printing was a misfire for Turkey back in the ancient times, but now the tables have turned, and Turkey finds itself in a very favorable position to do quite well in this current economic and technological state.
Turkcell in particular seems perfectly primed to ride out these uncertain financial times by virtue of its innovation. Google (News - Alert) and Apple both regard the Turkish company as an equal. Turkcell has been fantastic about providing employment to Turkish citizens, as well as developing its business model and investing wisely across the board.
Gore commented that Turkcell is one of the most stimulating businesses at work in the Turkish economy as a whole.
In this age of information technology, it seems that Turkey might just end up being a lead player. The company began hosting its Leaders Platform during the summits, and has added much value to its executive team by doing so.
Overall, Turkcell seems to be an innovative and industrious company poised to take the lead in the tech race the world over.
