Synchronica has signed a contract for its services and software to a company based in the Middle East. The company will receive about $1.5 million in the first year of the contract. The identity of the reseller was not released. It is located in the United Arab Emirates.

Synchronica will provide its mobile push e-mail; Instant Messaging software; professional services; and support, according to a report from istockanalyst.com.

The contract calls for an “initial volume of perpetual licenses” valued at $1,198,000, and $75,000 worth of professional services, according to the report. The contract also calls for $215,640 worth of support and maintenance fees over each year, for the licenses’ life, the report adds.

"We are delighted to have signed this agreement for yet another network operator within the Middle East and the addition of a reseller within the UAE certainly adds to the company's scalability across the region,” said Carsten Brinkschulte (News - Alert), CEO of Synchronica. “Recent forecasts suggest there is huge potential for significant mobile market growth across the Middle East with appetite for mobile push e-mail and instant messaging rapidly increasing. Synchronica (News - Alert) believes it can play a significant role in the development of this market due to our unique technology platform, which positions the company well as national security concerns regarding other mobile email technology providers increase across the region."

Synchronica says that mobile penetration has increased from 53 percent in 2005 to 88 percent at the end of last year – in the Middle East. It is projected to increase to 130 percent by 2015, according to Synchronica.

The company adds that the number of mobile subscribers increased from 53 million in 2005 to over 185 million in 2009 – in the Middle East. The numbers in the Middle East are predicted to go over 200 million this year. And they are projected to reach 296 million by the end of 2015. The company’s projections are based on information from Dataxisnews.com.

Synchronica's Mobile Gateway (News - Alert) features push e-mail and mobile synchronization services. It also now features: instant messaging, news feeds, and access to popular social networking sites. No software needs to be added to download Mobile Gateway to a handset.

Synchronica is based in the United Kingdom. It also has a development center in Germany, and regional offices in the United States, Hong Kong and Dubai.

Synchronica was in news earlier this year after it announced there would be a jump in instant messaging chat services in South Africa while it was the host country to the World Cup, TMCnet reported.
